It's beautiful here in The Surrey Hills. Spring
has most definitely sprung and every morning I
am walking our collie, Floss, on the North Downs
above my workshop. Every day the landscape changes
as the leaves appear and green up the hills and
the ploughed fields are drilled and smoothed over.
I find this landscape very inspiring, its great
to get up a bit high, I know its not of the Lake
District standard, but still, its great to look
down on the world and muse. I have been taking
lots of photos and sketches to use for some fused
glass pictures I will be making soon.
I am taking part in a local festival in July
and have been asked to show some of my work in
St James Church, Abinger Common. No pressure then.
There is the most lovely East window there by
the late Lawrence Lee. Click
here to see it.
Details of this event will be online in June.
I completed quite a few projects last week and
they will be fitted over the next few weeks. The
door on the right is one that you may remember
from the design. It is based on a Sussex landscape
and an ancient oak tree.
If you are looking for new courses the dates
will be on line at the end of the month.
See you soon
Best Wishes
A manda
