Hampshire View, Alton
2011
I finished this panel just before Christmas 2011
and just in time for my customers to fit it into
a hatch in their kitchen.
For the design I used a picture or two they gave
me of a view from their house. I have bent the
rules a little by putting the wildlife pond in
the foreground instead of in line with the walnut
tree, but hey this is artistic licence!
The dragonfly wings are cut in a very lacy looking
glass and simply glimmer when the sun shines.
Our sweet little frog looks happy in the corner
on his lily pad and I have used fusing techniques
to give the field the look of a corn field with
poppies.
It was a fiddly job as there are loads of different
pieces of glass but well worth the extra effort.
I used mouth blown, machine made and some of my
own hand made glass within this panel.
