The South Coast, Guildford
2011
This panel was inspired by the work of both Angie
Lewin printmaker and Eric
Ravilious both of theses artists are very
much admired by my customer.
I have combined these with my techniques of adding
detail of seed heads with glass fusing and traditional
stained glass painting. The view is of 'somewhere"
on the South Coast of England, some say it looks
like the Seven Sisters. As I have lived int eh
South of England all my life the scenes and views
are imprinted!
I designed the panel and then following approval
from my customers set about cutting and decorating
the glass. The sea has had 6 firings to achieve
just the right level of detail in fusing.
It's fitted just inside another window to obscure
the neighbours brick wall gable end.
