Tudor Rose, Surrey 2009
This beautiful panel depicting
a Tudor rose is fitted into a new hand made oak
door on a superb 15th Century cottage in Surrey.
The window, despite being made for such an old
house has been encapsulated into a sealed unit.
The leaded light is made using
some really great glasses to give added depth.
The white, is a mouth blown, light white opalescent
glass which glows beautifully. Two different red
glasses have been used, one highly textured to
catch the light and sparkle, and one a mouth blown
ruby flashed and the pale end of that sheet.
The green leaves are a rich
sheet glass which contrasts fabulously with the
pale green obscured outer panes.
